Brian Cox gives a career-defining performance as Winston Churchill in this ticking-clock thriller from Jonathan Teplitzky (The Railway Man).

Set in the hours leading up to D-Day, we find Churchill exhausted by years of war and plagued by depression. As a million soldiers line up on the South Coast of Britain, poised to invade Nazi-occupied Europe, Churchill tries to halt what he fears will be a repeat of the mass slaughter of 1915, when over 500,000 soldiers were killed on the beaches of Gallipoli.

As political opponents sharpen their knives, only the support of Churchill’s brilliant but exasperated wife (Miranda Richardson) can stop his physical and mental collapse.
